SINCE 1938

Hoffman’s Nursery and Landscaping was founded by Robert Hoffman in 1938, after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture at Purdue University. He returned to Wabash and soon opened Wabash Gardens, a floral gift shop, and a garden center with a 4-acre nursery on Ross Avenue in 1938.

In 1948, Bob and his wife Donnabelle purchased a farmhouse and 16 acres on St Rd 15 and Division Road across from the present Honeywell Golf Course. The farmhouse was remodeled into a garden center and gift shop, and the nursery was established on the acreage with the name changed to Hoffman Nursery.

Larry Hoffman, the youngest son of Bob and Donna, graduated from the Purdue University School of Landscape Horticulture and design in 1973 and came back to join the family business. Larry and his wife Cindy purchased the business in 1981 and became the second generation to own and operate the nursery on Division Rd. In 2000 Larry relocated the business 2 miles north at the intersection of State Rd 15 and 200 N in anticipation of a future generation joining the business.

The third Hoffman generation joined the business in 2001 after graduating from the Purdue School of Horticulture and expanded the company to include hardscapes as well as turf management. The current owner, Brian Hoffman, is the oldest son of Larry and Cindy. In 2012, Scotts Landscape Services was purchased by the Hoffmans and helped grow the business's landscape maintenance and turf divisions. In 2018, Brian Hoffman purchased the business from his parents and became the 3rd generation to own the company. Hoffman’s Nursery and Landscaping Inc. is proud to be servicing north central Indiana for its 83rd year.
